Stewart Martin

 
 

Stewart’s university teaching and research developed from secondary school headship and over thirty years experience in mainstream education. He has acted as an educational consultant to organisations in both the public and private sectors in the UK, the Netherlands and Canada.

Stewart writes and researches in the fields of education, digital technology, citizenship, leadership and educational achievement and has published software and books to support independent learning.

His research has been funded by the European Commission, the UK Teacher Development Agency, the Higher Education Funding Council, the Digital Economy (British Council, Prime Minister’s Initiative stream) and the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council. Stewart’s research interests include the educational use of computer technology, citizenship and images of the self, cognitive learning styles and technology, educational leadership and organisational change.

He is a National Teaching Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, UK and founder and Chair of the International Virtual Environments Research Group (iVERG).
